If you didn’t already know, Windows Vista was an upgrade from the dreaded Windows M.E. which was the worst idea Microsoft has had in a few years. But as of late 2008 they have redeemed themselves with “Windows 7″ which is an upgrade from the very loved Windows XP(currently in beta).
———————————————————————————————-
By 2012 all support for Windows XP is going to get cut off and all support will be on Vista and 7. Now, what if Windows 7 doesn’t live up to XP like we all hope it will? What if we get another smack in the face with all the compatibility issues that came with Vista? What if they take XP and change it WAY too much and it just doesn’t feel right to its users?
Honestly, I’ll stick to XP anyway if Windows 7 has any of the following problems:
1) Compatibility issues (especially with older PC games that I enjoy playing so much)
2) Sucks up too much RAM.
3) Tends to act sluggish with certain programs. (Vista did a lot)
Those are 3 things that none of us want to see in an operating system. Those 3 things alone are probably why so many people have switched to Mac OS X or Linux after Vista came out.
Do you all really believe that it will live up to XP? Keep in mind that it’s only out in beta form at the moment, many changes will be made before the final release. I have high expectations just like many other people, but at the same time I also have many doubts.
So really, What’s with all the hype?
